Modern solutions offered by dentistry. The prolonged duration of human life, food consumed and many other factors affect both directly and indirectly the state of teeth. Numerous oral diseases, and above all caries, have a very negative impact on the shape of your teeth. Dental prosthetics supplement the missing teeth and for this purpose propose durable and mobile solutions.

The most modern approach to dental prosthetics – implants

Tooth implants are becoming more common when teeth are replenished or rebuilt, which causes their price to gradually decrease. Also, the constant development of this field of prosthetics means that everyone can enjoy a beautiful smile without the feeling of embarrassment, as with a movable dentition – the so-called artificial jaw. Implants are a durable solution offered by dental prosthetics.

The basic element of such an implant is a titanium mandrel that looks like a screw or sleeve and the crown (sometimes crown) of the tooth, which is embedded in it. This metal part is made individually for each patient, which is why they differ in dimensions. Usually the diameter of the screw is from 3 to 5 millimeters, and its length is 7 to 21 millimeters. It is worth noting that titanium, which is the main component of the implant being created, is rarely used. It is also extremely well-tolerated metal. This is very important because this dental implant must permanently attach to the bone and throughout the entire period of use bear the same loads as natural dental roots. This fragment of the implant is completely invisible to the human eye because it was located in the bone just below the gum line.

A reconstructed tooth or teeth are attached to the metal mandrel, which is very difficult to distinguish from natural counterparts. This is due to the individual approach to the patient, because their shade, shape, transparency and other variables are properly selected. It can be a single crown, several crowns or a so-called dental bridge.

It should be emphasized that this is one of the many medical procedures offered by dentistry. In this case, a thorough medical history is always necessary as part of the patient’s qualification for surgery. Keep in mind contraindications and indications, which are verified by a dentist or implantologist every time during a conversation with a patient. Tooth implants also carry a small risk of complications, of which the doctor always prepares the patient for a medical procedure. Of course, the final decision about the method and choice of treatment is made by the patient.

Indications and contraindications of the method used

The most common indications include missing teeth, but also the lack of teeth. There are many factors of these problems, and most often they are mentioned: caries, periodontitis and improper oral hygiene or lack thereof. However, the sensation resulting from dental defects remains unchanged – discomfort, embarrassment and shame. Currently, such a problem can be completely eliminated, because access to dentists specializing in implantology is increasing. The most important indication in the patient’s perception is to avoid a removable, movable dental jaw, which requires much more attention and replacement from time to time. When choosing implants, you usually don’t feel the change, because you should look after them like your own teeth.

A contraindication to the use of dental implants is the current inflammatory process that weakens the human body. It is also one of several factors affecting the body’s rejection of a titanium implant. Other causes include poor oral hygiene, smoking and periodontitis. It is worth mentioning that this is a periodontal disease negatively affecting both your own teeth and implants. Contraindications include diseases and health conditions such as diabetes, pregnancy, prior cranial-facial radiation therapy, bruxism, systemic diseases, heavy smoking, mental illness, very poor oral hygiene or blood diseases. Some of these factors can be eliminated by the treatment used, the improvement of oral hygiene habits, or by undertaking appropriate treatment. Therefore, when considering dental implants, dispel any doubts during a conversation with a specialist in this field, i.e. an experienced dentist.

Currently, the limitation is not the patient’s age and the health problems he has been up to. This applies to both cranial and mandibular bone injuries. It should be emphasized that it is the implants that are recommended for patients struggling with difficult anatomy resulting from individual or random conditions.

Costs related to implants

Depending on the office, city, selected materials and the technology used, the price range is large. Prices start from 1500 zlotys and reach even 5000. It happens that you have to add additional costs such as bone reconstruction or required tests.
